How to get data plan of Tigo Tanzania internet packages
There are several ways you can get a Tigo Tanzania internet package:
1. USSD codes:
- Dial 14800# and select “Vifurushi vya internet” (Internet packages)
- Choose “Aina ya Vifurushi” (Type of package) to see available options
- Select your desired package and follow the prompts to confirm
2. Tigo Pesa App:
- Download the Tigo Pesa app from Google Play or the App Store
- Log in or register for a Tigo Pesa account
- Select “Buy Airtime & Bundles”
- Choose “Internet Bundles” and select your preferred package

3. Tigo website:

- 5GB costs about Tsh 2000 with 1-day activation.
- The price of 2GB is Tsh 1000 with 2 hours of activation.
- 4GB costs about Tsh 5000 with 2-day activation.
- 10GB charges are Tsh 25000 with 30 days of activation.
- Under the Internet SUPA, the 20GB with an additional Night bonus of 30GB costs about Tsh 50000 for 30 days (50GB package).
TIGO DATA PACKAGES:
Tigo provides internet data packages from 100MB to 60GB and is the 4G network provider in Tanzania. The speed on the internet is 5 times faster than the 3G network providers. To activate the package the customer needs to dial *148*00#. The data package information is as follows:
- The cost of 100MB is Tsh 500 with 1-day activation.
- 400MB costs about Tsh 1000 with 1-day activation.
- 2GB is set at a price of Tsh 3000 with 7 days of activation.
- The price of 2.5GB is Tsh 2000 with 1-day activation.
- 7GB charges are Tsh 10000 with 30 days of activation.
- 34GB price is kept at Tsh 30000 with 30 days of activation.
- 60GB costs about Tsh 50000 with 30 days of activation.
HALOTEL DATA PACKAGES
Launched in October 2015, the Halotel Company was the first to lay their fiber optic cable covering over 18,000 km across the country. The code to activate is *148*66#. The available packages are as follows.
- 200MB costs about Tsh 500 1 day activation.
- Price of 500MB package is Tsh 1000 1 day activation
- 1GB costs about Tsh 1500 1 day activation
- 25GB cost stands at Tsh 50000 with 30 days activation
- 80GB costs about Tsh 150000 with 30 days of activation
